Every year, right after the 3rd quarter, all Juniors in Cal High have to start State testing. They first have to take the English Pt test and the English Mc test during the first week of State testing. Then, during the second week of State testing, they have to take the Science and math tests. The Junior State testing period happens on Wednesday, April 15th, Thursday, April 16th, Wednesday, April 22nd, and Thursday, April 23rd. There will be a different schedule on all of these dates. All Juniors must be at School by 8:30 am. Students who are not Juniors who have a Zero period must be at School by 9:30 am, and Students that are not Juniors that dont have a Zero period don’t have to be at school until 10:51 am. Nutrition starts at 10:30 am. Students that dont have a Zero period, that our not Juniors, can also come to School then.
Junior State testing is from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. On State testing days, each 11th grader will have to go to the classroom that they were assigned to. When Juniors walk onto campus, they will be greeted by the administrators. Each day during State testing, Juniors will be greeted with treats. The first day of State testing, the administration will have donuts for all the Juniors when they walk in. Then, in the second week on April 22nd, the administrators will have Chick-fil-A breakfast for all Juniors when they come onto campus. During Nutrition, a Daily raffle will be held on April 15th,16th,22nd, and 23rd. After State testing, all Juniors will be rewarded with In-N-Out if they came on time for all State testing days and if they came with their Chromebook fully charged.
The first day of Junior State testing, Juniors will take the English Pt test, then on Thursday, April 16th, Juniors will take the English MC test. On Wednesday, April 22nd, Juniors will be testing for Math, and on Thursday, April 23rd, Juniors will be testing for Science. In their senior year, Juniors who earn 3s or 4s in all exams will receive an ice cream during lunch, earn a special recognition, and they get to wear a medal at graduation. Overall, if you do well in all state tests or just come prepared and on time, you will have many prizes and rewards. We wish all Juniors the best during State testing and hope they do well!
