Start of a week
It is disappointing that many people do not fully understand the depth and importance of Kindness Week. As its name suggests, it’s a week to do random acts of kindness, whether that means helping others or just waving hello. Yet, the importance of a small act of kindness cannot be underestimated.
Gift of Kindness
To be kind is not to mealy-mouth someone when walking by; while that may be polite, it is not necessarily kind. Performing an act of kindness can be the difference in someone’s day, as well as building habits. It should be a stride not to do these for only one week, but to build habits and routines around kindness; it may even change the atmosphere of a school if a sizable population of students takes part in Kindness Week and each performs an act of kindness for two people, then over twice as many students may have a day improved!
Why is it not seen as often?
Kindness is rarely seen for those that people do not know, this is for the reasons that people may just be afraid, whether it be of judgement of their peers, rejection of the acts of kindness, or any other reasons that stop people from doing what they wish to do. Not falling into these fears will be the only way that kindness week can prosper.
