Ever wander around campus and suddenly notice a pattern in style? This is oftentimes seen in groups in each corner of the school, and everyone is just dying to show off the latest clothing, shoes, accessories, hairstyles, and bling galore! Let’s go ahead and dive into the hottest trends surrounding us girls today!
First things first, we must start off with the most popular combinations in clothing. Recently, students have been seen with plaid, unbuttoned T- shirts or cardigans layered over a white top/shirt, the iconic Ed Hardy tracksuits that come in a variety of options, puffer vests over long sleeves, and clothes inspired by the 2000’s, such as low-rise jeans with bling, vibrant colors, fur collars, cropped sweaters, etc. One of our freshmen, Hailey Arroyo, has just made an appearance with her brand new pink Ed Hardy tracksuit, receiving multiple compliments!
Something else that has also become a commodity around campus is the usage of necklaces, exotic belts, and hoop earrings. One of Cal High’s seniors, Jadylynn Fernandez, has a wide range of accessories. She often likes to give her outfits a nice pop with her very chic variation, turning her outfits from basic to stylish with just a few items!
As for shoes, students have been interested in UGG’s latest sneaker collection, white Sambas, Birkenstock sandals, and especially the well-known sparkly chanclas. This has been an attraction amongst those who want to bring comfort, functionality, and most importantly, style – both very good to have in cases such as these. Furthermore, the beautifully detailed chanclas have become a staple in Hispanic culture, even inspiring other communities as well, and are a great source to have for the summer. You can never go wrong with a sparkly moment, especially with a fresh new pedicure!
We all know the previous topics are what make an outfit a difference; however, what really is an outfit without a cute hairstyle? Hairstyles are, too, a unique way of expressing oneself and can go a long way with even the slightest change. A few of our generation’s top choices are side parts, slicked-back buns, classic curls, and edges. Some have been around for a while, but seem to have made a comeback in terms of popularity since last year.
We might be at school, but that does not stop students at Cal from dressing fashionably! Here at California High School, you will find an endless amount of styles, all of which bring out each individual quirk in every student. We dress for success!
