After the last bell of the school day rings, many faculty, leaders, and students begin to set up for the Future Condor night. Where many soon-to-be 9th graders come to our home and search for what is right for them. Many condors stay after school to help prepare for this amazing event.
When the clock strikes 6 pm, many families of different 8th graders come together and explore the awesomeness that Cal High has to offer them. With the Entertainment Unit greeting them from the gate. The 8th graders are seeing their future campus and many new interests they may find. From amazing clubs, connecting many students with the same hobbies/ interests, to many amazing programs like PREP to help students with their homework. “They receive information about the many different clubs, programs, and sports that Cal High has to offer to students,” Freshman Maddison Moreno expresses. From this event, many students can receive a head start and apply to what they want to do once they reach high school. “They would be informed of different types of academies, sports, and programs that they can join at Cal High,” Freshman Dinaly Lorenzo Perez mentions.
Future Condor Night was made for the incoming 9th graders to follow the right steps and strive towards the many things that they may enjoy and want to pursue after high school. “Because they get to learn about all the opportunities available to them and how it can help them and their future,” Maddison remarks. High school is a place where many students start to figure out what they are going to do for the rest of their lives, It is a place where they can explore what they like and don’t like. “They’ll get to figure out what clubs and different activities they want to do and figure out what fits best for them,” Dinaly comments.
As the event goes on many condors try to find and possibly persuade many future condors to join their club/program/class. There were performances by the jazz band and the performance club. The future condors were able to see what interested them and go up to the program’s stands to ask the people currently in that program how it works, whats the schedule, etc.
Soon, as the sun starts to go down, many future condor families leave the campus with may hopes to see what they would want to do during the 2025-2026 school year.
