“The Odyssey” by the presumed author Homer is an epic poem based on Greek mythology that tells the story of Odysseus; king of Ithaca. It explores his journey going home after ending the Trojan War. The book uses lots of words and many phrases that people may not know. It is detailed but in an unclear way. Many times the theme of a chapter can be hidden in between lines that may not be captured without incredible eyesight and determination. I, myself, had to reread a few things. Many people could be confused reading a few pages, I know I was.
The book displays many characters and tales from Greek mythology. If you love Greek mythology then this might just be for you. “The Odyssey” shows a good candid picture of what Greek mythology is about.
