California High School’s Choir program just had the first round of their bi-annual Week of the Stars performances! Week of the Stars is a project choir students do, they pick a song, learn it, and perform it for their class period!
Cal High Senior and two year choir member Joseph Amos sang an Adele song,, “I’m always excited for week of the stars because it gives me a chance to choose a song to perform that I can personally relate to. It also allows me to hear all these other students perform which is actually really fun.”
Junior and third year choir member Megan Pineda said that her performance was, “Very nerve wracking at first, but she just had to go up there and give it all she had. Everyone was very supportive and clapped before you got up to perform, and cheered and clapped afterwards no matter how you felt you did.”
Junior Adeline Dumas said that she was a little anxious: “I was nervous about blanking out on the lyrics or the notes.”
Week of the Stars, while it might seem a little strange to others, is very important to Cal Hi Choir members, and it is highly valuable, as it teaches them to perform under pressure more professionally!
