“Top One Hundred” Annual ceremony

On the 4th of April, the Top One Hundred Annual Recognition Ceremony took place. The purpose of this ceremony was to honor the top students for their academic accomplishments. Awards were given out to students in order to honor their success in academics. It is an honor for students to be selected as part of the top one hundred students especially for sophomores, juniors and seniors since they must take challenging classes and have a GPA higher than a 4.0. Aside from that, the Principal talked about everything each senior had accomplished throughout their four years at California High School, some students even announced what college they were planning on attending and their career goal.

On a personal interview with senior student and Valedictorian Yanelli Gonzalez, she said that all of her hard work, sleepless nights and tears were all worth it and that it’s important to keep pushing yourself even in those moments when you want to give up because in the end, you will be happy with the results. She also said that going to the ” Top One Hundred” ceremony every year made her feel happy with her self and proud because she can say that she is at the top of her class and that all her hard work has paid off.
